For the faithful who can't quite feel it
Does God love you?
Let's look at what Jesus actually said.
You know the right answer. You've heard it in church for years. And some days it still doesn't land. Maybe you wonder if you've used up His patience, or if His love comes with a catch you haven't found yet.
Get Day 1 free. It lands in your inbox today.

Sound familiar?
You believe it.
You just can't feel it.
- You can say “God is love” in your sleep and still brace for disappointment.
- You serve, give and show up, half hoping that this time it will finally land.
- A rough week makes you wonder whether the love is still there.
- Prayer feels more like reporting in than being known.
That isn't weak faith. It's what happens when love starts to feel like something you have to earn. Anything you earn can be lost, so you keep watch.
In His own words
He didn't wait for the speech.
The love came first.
Jesus told a story about a son who walked away, spent everything, and finally headed home. On the road he rehearsed what he would say. He planned to ask to be treated like a hired servant. Here is what his father did before the son got a word out:
“Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.” Luke 15:20 (NLT)
Jesus told that story to show what God is like. Nothing in it asks the son to earn his way back first. The running came before the apology, before the cleanup, before any proof.
Later He said this to the people closest to Him:
“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love.” John 15:9 (NLT)
Notice the order. Jesus says, I have loved you. It is already done. Then He invites you to remain in it, not to work your way toward it.
